#32 Color, color and more color! What goes together? A little bit of theory today so that when you choose the colors for your big day, you have a little bit of knowledge when discussing your needs with your florist.
Although there aren't any hard and fast rules about what colors shouldn't go together, there are certainly combinations that work better than others.
By u...tilizing a color wheel, which your florist should be well versed in, they should be able to show you options which will create an inviting atmosphere and the most pleasing impact.
Colors that are next to, or are near each other, create a harmonious effect - such as pinks and purples.
Colors that are opposite each other, known as contrasting colors, appear more powerful together than they do apart. An example of this, blue and orange enhance one another when put together properly in a design.
Using white in your flowers? Chose a florist that can guide you well - white can dominate some colors, dull others and also, create almost an iridescent quality when teamed properly.
Alright, enough about that - the point is that you chose a florist who can help you create the mood and look that you are striving for on your wedding day!

#26 Add some creative accents to your bouquet! Have your florist wire beads or crystals into your bouquet - later, have them made into a keepsake bracelet. Or rather than the traditional ribbon stem wrap, use a hankerchief that belonged to your mother or grandmother. A big trend nowadays are bouquets made out of brooches - if that is a litt...le much for you however you have some special pieces, again, have your florist incorporate them into your bouquet or use one on the stems. The choices are endless! The key is that the end result is a bouquet that reflects your style and personality and will look fabulous in those pictures for years to come!

#25 Not sure what to tell your prospective florit at your consultation? Here are some of the important details!
- First and foremost, give them the date, time and location for your wedding, make sure they are available.
- At least 5 adjectives describing the ambiance you want to create: romantic, classic, elegant, vi...ntage, casual, to name a few
- Share your ideas! Favorite flowers, colors scheme Collect pictures and put together an inspiration board to bring to the consultation.
- Size of the wedding party, number of guests expected
- Table sizes and shapes, decorative focal points such as fireplaces and staircases.
- Your general budget - a good florist will have design options for a range of budgets and knowing yours allows us to tailor our creative thinking.
- Do share how you found them - some florists offer discounts or waive fees if you were referred by another client.

#24 Whats in Season? Its a questions we get asked repeatedly and while pretty much any flower can be found at any time of the year, perhaps from some far off place, you may want to stick to inseason flowers to ensure that you get the best, most beautiful blossoms! If not, Mother Nature in all her glory may see fit to ruin a crop, which in turn prevents shipping or tripli...ng the cost of your flowers.
Ahhhhh... Spring! Popular choices you may want to discuss with your florist include Anemone, Hyacinth, Peony, and Tulips to name a few. Your florist should be able to guide you as far as what is available so do ask them and avoid wedding flower fiascos!!! Here is a beautiful Casa Blanca Lily!

#22 Welcome your guests from the first moment with attractive entryway flowers! Give them an immediate impression of the style of your wedding through the florals you have selected at the entrancce. A formation of grand, oversize blooms in crystal vases sets the stage for an elaborate, formal wedding while a scattering of wildflowers in vases says is more indicative of a... casual, garden party theme. While sometimes overlooked, this is one of those small details that can make the largest impact. A few ideas:
- Pedestals on each side of the doorway with floral arrangements on them
- A large floral arrangement just inside the door
- Color-coordinated floral wreaths on the outsides of entry doors

#21 Setting the Groom Apart! In the vast majority of weddings, the groom's boutonniere is designed to stand apart from the groomsmen, fathers and others who are wearing them. Things to consider include: size - don't go too large or too small for his frame and lapel, season - this may inspire a design whereby he is wearing a white tulip and his men are wearing orange for ...a spring wedding, and of course, the formality of the wedding. This can determine if he wears a classic rose or a tuft of wildflowers.
DONT'S :
1. Have your florist design something so big that it looks like his mothers corsage.
2. Have your florist, in an attempt to match your bouquet, make his bout look too feminine.
3. Have your florist add too many flowers.
4. Have your florist add too many layer

The key to this Peony bout is getting the flower to the perfect size before using it!
